Doppler Signal Simulation Method Based on Physical Model

Abstract   A computer method based on physical models for generating Doppler ultrasound signals from laminar, pulsatile, nonuniform flow is presented. The Doppler in-phase and quadrature signals can be simulated when the flow characteristics and the instrument parameters are given as inputs. Experiments results show that the model can generate signals with characteristics similar to those of the real Doppler signals. Thus this method is effective.
